One of the minor struggles I had during the planning process was figuring out what position I wanted the figure to be in. I had to consider the designs I’ll be putting on the body as well as the size of the canvas i’ll be using. Instead of doing head shots, like I planned beforehand, exposing more of the body would help the composition and allows me to create more positions for the figure. After experimenting with certain colors and positions I’ve settled with one that would make the figure as a whole pop out while also keeping it somewhat simple.
I have already created some Raku pottery that I broke just by dropping them onto the group (hurt my soul). Once I view more videos to figure out how the process works I will start the Kintsugi process on those pieces.
My piece will be worked on a wooden canvas and the materials that would be used are oil paint, Flex Spackle, gold leaf, and epoxy (for the figure). The background is still being worked on, but I have been given a reference that I am considering. I’d most likely paint this myself, so there would be a flat surface for the figure to be on.
Another struggle is the addition of the umbrella to give more composition to the piece, but I have not decided how to execute it. If there are any other suggestions you all have for me concerning background or umbrella, please let me know.
Until next time, adios.

I like that you are taking a different approach to this artwork, and even if you said that planning is not your best thing to do, this is still solid planning. I would just continue to experiment, especially with the umbrella, so that you then have a general idea of what to do with the umbrella. Also like that you made Raku pottery just to break it!
I am so impressed and amazed by how you connected the culture with that feeling of growth. I feel like I can relate to the topic of having to fill in the cracks and renewing into something better, it is kind of the same concept of how I formulated Bitter Bear. But going back to your piece, I definitely think you are on the right track but I would like to see more sketches or pictures of how the pottery and girl with combine into a piece. Also, I will say I like how you've placed the umbrella but in regards to some advice about the background I would say to keep it minimal or simple to keep the attention…
